New infographic provides quick overview of the Security Council’s counter-terrorism resolutions

Countering the scourge of terrorism has been on the agenda of the United Nations for decades IIn the aftermath of the 11 September attacks against the United States in 2001, the Security Council unanimously adopted resolution . which established a dedicated Counter-Terrorism Committee (CTC) of the Council and set the framework for much of the Committee’s work, and that of Member States, over the past 20 years. The CTC is assisted by an Executive Directorate (CTED), which carries out its policy decisions and conducts expert assessments of the 193 United Nations Member States.

Today, over 20 Security Council resolutions exist that pertain to counter-terrorism, the majority of which were adopted since 2014. A new infographic provides an overview of these resolutions and their respective focus in an easy-to-access manner; access the visual presentation here.
