Prof. Paul Tiyambe Zeleza

Paul Tiyambe Zeleza is currently the Senior Adviser for Strategic Initiatives, Office of the President, and Professor of African Studies, College of Arts and Sciences, Howard University, Washington DC, USA. 

Prof. Zeleza is a renowned scholar of African economic and intellectual history, diaspora, gender, human rights and cultural studies, fields in which he has published 30 books and hundreds of essays. Several of his books have won international awards. He is also a novelist and short-story writer. He has held distinguished academic and senior administrative positions as college principal in Canada, center director, department chair, associate provost, and academic vice president at several universities in the United States, and vice chancellor (president) at the United States International University in Kenya. He is an honorary professor at the University of Cape Town and Nelson Mandela University and has received prestigious fellowships at Harvard University. He has served on the editorial boards of more than two dozen journals and on the boards of several higher education institutions and associations around the world. He is currently Senior Advisor for Strategic Initiatives and Professor of African Studies at Howard University in Washington, DC.?
