On 13 November 2023 at 10am New York time, a hybrid global launch event will take place, of a flagship report of the United Nations Office of the Special Adviser on Africa (OSAA) titled "Solving Paradoxes of Africa's Development: Financing, Energy and Food Systems," with the participation of a panel of experts from the World Bank, the African Forum and Network on Debt and Development, and the International Fund for Agricultural Development, as well asother guests.
The report sheds light on the interplay among three intersecting paradoxes and their impact on Africa's sustainable development, while tracingthe root of these paradoxes and puts forth solutions to address these challenges, which are crucial to improving Africa's prospects in accelerating progress toward achieving the SDGs.

The Working Group on Enforced or Involuntary Disappearances launched a special initiative to mark the adoption of the Declarationon the Protection of All Persons from Enforced Disappearance,aiming at taking stock of the progress of international law on the subject, as well as identifying the obstacles encountered in the implementation of the Declaration and the ways in which the Working Group could support States in overcoming them, including through technical assistance and cooperation.
The study will focus on the contribution of the Declaration to the progress of international and domestic law and jurisprudence, the obstacles encountered in its implementation, the relevant lessons learned, and good practices.
Call for Inputs: Emerging Science, Frontier Technologies, and the SDGs
The UN Interagency Task Team on Science, Technology, and Innovation for the SDGs (IATT) is calling upon scientists, engineers, economists, policy analysts, and UN staff experts to contribute to the annual background report on “Emerging science, frontier technologies, and the SDGs – Perspectives from UN system and science and technology communities” in support of the Multi-Stakeholder Forum on Science, Technology, and Innovation for the SDGs (STI Forum), to be held at UN Headquarters in New York in May 2022.

The University Global Coalition, in partnership with the State University of New York, is organizing the SDGs Action and Awareness Week, which will take place from 28 February to 4 March 2022. Its purpose is topromote awareness of the SDGs among students in higher education and inspire them to take action in furtherance of the goals on their campuses and in their local community.
