Accessibility Centre

The Accessibility Centre at United Nations Headquarters, through its services, supports the inclusion and greater participation of persons with disabilities in the meetings of the Organization. The Centre was inaugurated by Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon on 3 December 2013.

The Centre is near the meeting rooms and is equipped with state-of-the-art assistive information and communications technology supporting audio, visual and physical impairments.

What will you find at the Accessibility Centre?

  • Assistive tools and technologies for persons with visual, audio and mobility impairments

  • Computer stations with assistive devices* such as desktop magnifiers
  • Wheelchair charging provisions at various locations in the conference facilities
  • Assistance on how to use the devices, which is available at the counter

Hours of operation: 9 a.m. – 5 p.m.

 

*Screen readers, Braille and other assistive keyboards, portable DAISY players, hearing aids, bone-conduction headsets, specialized mice, Braille note takers.
