On 18 October 2024 UNDEF reconnected with project partners and , following the recent completion of their UNDEF project which supported the activation of the private sector for women's economic rights in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA).  The group visited New York City to exchange about experiences, issues and trends related to the intersection of women’s leadership and climate change mitigation in rural areas.

In the meeting, CEOSS provided insights into their “Cultivate” initiative, which worked locally with 100,000 farmers in 8 governorates of Egypt to cultivate an area of 150,000 acres of wheat, an experience that both CEOSS and HANDS believe can be taken to another level by involving women working on small farms in voicing and coordinating their climate change concerns across the MENA region. UNDEF introduced participants to their funding cycle and thematic priorities. The group also received an update on current gender and climate initiatives by civil society partners worldwide, supporting women's leadership and their full, equal participation in decision-making.

The visitors were also introduced to the We the Women campaign, an initiative by the UN Deputy Secretary-General and the German Federal Minister for Economic Cooperation and Development of Germany.
